Which DJI Drones Can Use Waypoints?

Waypoints

A professional pilot can configure the DJI Waypoint in many ways. You also base a flight on more points. Once the route is determined, your drone will follow it while you manage the camera position. Waypoint is also a fantastic tool for audiovisual work.

Waypoints allow for missions requiring complex shots that offer extreme precision, such as aerial mapping. In this article, we will discuss which DJI drones can use waypoints in detail. Aspirants stay tuned and read the article carefully to grab important information.

What is Waypoints?

Determines the specific flight path of a drone. After setting the waypoint, the user can program the drones to fly autonomously along a predetermined route, capture footage, or collect data without continuous manual control. Waypoints are pre-defined GPS coordinates. Also, we can design missions with this useful feature.

What can We do with Waypoints?

Waypoints can help you when designing a mission. You can also take photos or record videos at specific points during the mission. Also, with Waypoint, you can guarantee the client that you will deliver the correct image {or video}. This is very helpful for construction companies as it makes it easy to check for security flaws.

  • Audiovisual Shooting: You can replicate the same shots you planned for the day before the shoot using waypoints. But the further advantage is that the gimbal configuration, speed, height, etc., will all be identical. The use of waypoints for audiovisual recording is obvious.
  • Timelapse: Once you’ve settled on the ideal location for a timelapse, waypoints can enhance it. Waypoint offers many options to configure the mission, create a timelapse so you can zoom, change gimbal settings, and move sideways, up and down – the possibilities are endless!
  • Photogrammetry: Using waypoints to plan flights in photogrammetry will play an effective role. All you need to do is do some quick mapping to create an accurate flight plan and Waypoint is ready to help you.
  • Customized Quickshot: Waypoints can also be used to create customized QuickShot versions of some of the other DJI Intelligent Flight modes

Which DJI Drones Can Use Waypoints?

It’s worth noting how easy waypoints are and what a difference they can make in certain situations. Unfortunately, not every DJI drone is capable of using waypoints. Below is a list of DJI drones that have this feature. Waypoints must be created. After identifying the waypoints, the route can be created and the aircraft will fly along the designated route. DJI Mini 4 Pro, DJI Air 3, DJI Mavic 3/ Mavic 3 Cine/Mavic 3 Classic can design a flight path by setting points before take-off. Let’s take a look.
