The Tarascan production model was not given much detail. Although Cupra did say that it would be the brand’s vehicle for globalization and expansion into new markets. When it debuts in 2024, the Tavascan will join the Cupra Born hatchback as the brand’s second electric car. It will also significantly contribute to raising the company’s sales to 500,000 units annually by 2025.
Given that Cupra has sold over 200,000 automobiles since becoming a single brand in 2018 that is an ambitious goal. The Tarascan production model’s technical details have not been disclosed by Cupra, but we do know that the MEB platform of the Volkswagen Group serves as its foundation. Similar to the Volkswagen, the Tavascan Concept’s dual-motor electric engine produced 302 horsepower.
Cupra Tavascan Electric SUV 2025 Rumours
The Tarascan is anticipated to only offer the more potent dual-motor powertrains. Larger batteries are based on the MEB architecture because the Cupra brand is focused on performance. That could result in respectable performance if the ID.5 GTX is any indication.
The VW model accelerates from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 6.3 seconds and tops out at 112 mph (180 km/h). However, we anticipate the Tavascan to move a bit more quickly. The all-electric Tavascan, Cupra’s answer to the Volkswagen ID.4 and Skoda EnyaqiV has been unveiled in its final production form.
The 2025 Tavascan, which will go on sale, will share many design cues with the 2019 concept car and look a lot like the Urban Rebel. Both vehicles will feature an upgraded version of the Born hatchback’s electric design language.
Cupra Tavascan Electric SUV 2025 77kWh Battery
Although details have not yet been released. It is almost certain that the Tavascan will capitalize on Cupra’s status as a sporty brand within the VW Group and be offered the exact powertrain as the hot Volkswagen ID.4 GTX. This entails a 77kWh battery powering a 295bhp all-wheel-drive electric system.
Just over six seconds should be needed to go from 0 to 62 mph, and a full charge should enable a 300-mile range. Versions of the Tavascan that are less powerful, have a shorter range and are ultimately less expensive should be achievable thanks to the battery and motor combinations of the MEB platform.
Cupra Tavascan Electric SUV 2025 200kW Charging
Sister company, However, Volkswagen has confirmed that the MEB platform will receive a set of improvements, which may be available by the time the Tavascan goes on sale in 2025. One of the main goals is to increase the maximum range to 435 miles.
However, this will likely only be possible with a long-wheelbase saloon model that will act as the electric Passat. By the time the Tavascan hits showrooms, though, 200kW charging might be a production possibility.
