The player controls five different characters from a first-person perspective during the single-player campaign. The player primarily controls Sergeant Gary “Roach” Sanderson, a British member of Task Force 141, an international special forces unit. Along with Roach, the player will control Private First Class Joseph Allen (Troy Baker) and Private James Ramirez of the United States Army’s 1st Battalion/75th Ranger Regiment.

A teaser trailer for the game unveils on March 25, 2009. At the Game Developer Choice Awards ceremony in San Francisco.
