Thanksgiving is a holiday observed in several nations, including the US, Canada, and others. Beginning on this day, the holiday season and other blessings from the previous year are honored. In Canada, it is observed on the second Monday of October, as opposed to the fourth Thursday of November, when it is observed in the United States. It will be observed on November 24 this year. On this day, people congregate and enjoy the occasion with their loved ones.
At their homes, people hold gatherings and feasts. They express gratitude for all the advantages of the previous year. They often adorn their homes to signal the start of the holiday season. Pumpkin pie, turkey, potatoes, and bread stuffing are typical Thanksgiving fare. The turkey fowl plays a significant role in the celebration.
Thanksgiving Day origin
Pilgrims are not necessarily the first characters in this tale. In what is now Florida and New Mexico, Spanish explorers and settlers are known to have celebrated Thanksgiving. As early as 1607, Thanksgivings were celebrated in what would become the Commonwealth of Virginia, with the first permanent settlement of Jamestown hosting one in 1610.
Happy Thanksgiving Wishes “First”
The Pilgrims, or Plymouth settlers, did not reach the New World until ten years later. After their first harvest in 1621, they held three days of festivities at Plymouth. The meeting featured 90 Native Americans and all 50 Mayflower passengers (of the 100 who had arrived). Along with their young daughters and other slaves, the four adult female Pilgrims who made it through their first winter in the New World prepared the feast.
In fact, to help you show your gratitude to all the important people in your life this Thanksgiving, See’s has designed shareable “Thank You” cards.
It is obvious that this year’s Thanksgiving will be a little unique. Americans will travel less and spend less time with their families, thus it will be more crucial than ever for them to come up with fresh and original methods to express their gratitude. This Thanksgiving, you can share the messages on these cards’ respective themed fronts with your loved ones.

Happy Thanksgiving Wishes is declared a public holiday
In contrast to harvest celebrations, the first national Thanksgiving holiday was marked to commemorate the adoption of the new United States Constitution. In order to acknowledge the role of providence in forging the new United States and the new federal Constitution, President George Washington declared November 26 of that year as a “Day of Public Thanksgiving” in 1789.
Washington was serving his first term as president at the time, and the fledgling country had just successfully completed the American Revolution. Washington urged the American people to thank God for giving them “the chance to construct a form of government for their safety and pleasure.”Thanksgiving was being observed for the first time under the new Constitution at this time.
